 Разработчик: Gloster Страна: Великобритания Первый полет: 1923 Тип: Истребитель В 1923 году конструктор Генри Фолланд разработал новую конструкцию крыльев для истребителей бипланов, получившую обозначение Gloster H.L.B. Section. Опробовать новшество было решено на истребителе Mars Mk.III Nighthawk. Переоборудованный самолет получил обозначение Gloster Grouse Mk.I. Испытания самолета ( G-EAYN) с двигателем Bentley BR.2 были успешно закончены, однако было решено строить более совершенный вариант самолета, получивший наименование Gloster Grebe. После успешной демонстрации возможностей нового крыла фирме Gloucestershire Aircraft Company (позднее Gloster Aircraft Company) были заказаны три модернизированных варианта самолета Grouse Mk.II с двигателями Armstrong Siddeley Jaguar III, Bristol Titian мощностью 200 л.с. и Armstrong Siddeley Lynx II мощностью 180 л.с. В 1924 году единственный экземпляр самолета был переоборудован под Lynx II. После установки двойного управления предполагалось использовать его в летных школах для замены Avro Type 504K, однако ни одного заказа от Авиационного Министерства Великобритании на Grouse Mk.II. на не поступило. Но нашелся нашелся зарубежный заказчик. Шведская комания Swedish Army Aviation Company заказала два экземпляра Grouse Mk.II для ВВС. Летом 1926 года был поставлен единственный произведенный самолет, получивший в шведских ВВС бортовой номер 62 и обозначение O(с двумя точками)-3. Этот самолет состоял на вооружение 3 авиакрыла до 1929 года, налетав всего 109 часов. Несмотря на хорошие отзывы летчиков о самолета, второй заказанный экземпляр так и не был закуплен.
